Salamanders Survive Late Scare

The Holly Springs Salamanders came away with a 2-1 victory Wednesday night over the Fayetteville SwampDogs, pushing the Salamanders record to 2-1 for the second half of the CPL season. Fayetteville, who won the first half of the CPL season, fell to 2-1 after the loss.

The Salamanders opened up the second half of the season with an impressive win at home on Sunday evening, defeating the Martinsville Mustangs 10-5.

The Holly Springs Salamanders were defeated 11-3 by the Edenton Steamers at Historic Hicks Field on Saturday night.

Holly Springs starting pitcher Chris Rodriguez (Redshirt-Junior, Wright State) surrendered five runs on five hits over four innings. The Holly Springs Salamanders dropped a close contest to the Peninsula Pilots on Friday night by a score of 4-3 at the North Main Athletic Complex.
