The SwampDogs Deliver Twelve Hits and Pitch Shutout Baseball to Defeat the Salamanders 8 – 0 Friday Night at Ting Park

SwampDog Pitchers Joe Graziano, Adam Erickson, Ryan Fisch, and Alex Kachler combine to hold the Salamanders to five hits while pitching shutout baseball Friday night.  The SwampDog offense was also productive plating eight runs on twelve hits.  The combination of pitching and hitting were too much for the Salamanders as the SwampDogs defeated the Manders 8 – 0 Friday night at Ting Park.

Aside from a two run third inning by the SwampDogs, both teams were held at bay for six complete innings.  It was a six-run top of the seventh inning by the SwampDogs that blew the game open.  That inning was highlighted for the SwampDogs by a long three run home run off the bat of second baseman KC Brown.  Konner Piotto, Brett Brown, Brandon Talley, and KC Brown each had multiple hits for the SwampDogs.

Liam Hicks delivered two hits on the night for the Salamanders in the losing effort.  Nick Lucky, Ian Bailey, and Itchy Burts each had base hits as well.  Parker Thode pitched six innings for the Salamanders giving up two runs on six hits.  Thode walked only one batter on the night while striking out six.

The Salamanders head to Fayetteville to face the SwampDogs tomorrow evening with a 7:05 first pitch.  The Manders will return to Ting Park Sunday afternoon to face the Marlins with a 5:40 start time.
