One-of-a-kind Holly Springs Athletics jerseys up for auction now!
On Sunday, June 28, fans arriving to Ting Stadium won't see the Salamanders donning their classic blue and white jerseys. Instead the hometown team is diving back in time over 80 years in celebration of Holly Springs Community Day.
Players will don throwback threads designed in the same fashion their predecessors, the Holly Springs Athletics. The Athletics, who played in almost the exact same location, were one of the first African-American baseball teams in the Triangle and a few alumni will be in attendance to throw out the first pitch against the Morehead City Marlins at 5:40 p.m.
After the game, these jerseys, a truly incredible piece of Holly Springs history will be up for auction with proceeds going to the MLK Committee of Holly Springs.
